Traffic - One Word at
a Time
by Ray
Burton
We all want traffic to
our websites and it’s not rocket science to know that without
it we are doom to failure if the business is solely internet
based. However some would think that it is rocket science
trying to figure out how to get said website
traffic.
Well sit back and get
ready for a revelation. It takes the work of words. Words are
what drive traffic because people read and listen to words on
websites. This may all sound a bit basic, but it must be the
foundation of our marketing efforts rather than the links,
dollars and lists.
Think of it in terms of
human relations. What makes you want to see someone? Because
you heard or read something about them that you considered of
value and drew you to them. Whether it be personal or business.
What would make you continue in a relationship with them?
Whether the words you heard proved to be reliable and
attractive.
It’s the same with
website marketing. Whether you’re writing an article, blog,
press release or text on a banner, one word at a time you build
a relationship that you can develop to a mutually profitable
end. If they value you’re words they may just come to value you
and your products or service.
They may buy your
product, join your list or any number of things. The result of
that relationship will be, you guessed it – more words. These
words are key because they are your customers words about
you.
Take care of the words
you speak and your journey on the road of customer and personal
relations will blossom and flourish. Neglect them and your road
will be full of pains and
difficulties.
In addition to the words
you speak, pay careful attention to what you hear. Are you able
to provide more or improved quality in the relationship, by
responding to the feedback you’re
hearing?
Success is about filling
a need, requiring the essential ingredient of action. You need
to understand what people want and decide whether it's
economically and viably possible to respond. Guess how you find
out what the need is? Ask them! Again words. You can do this
with a form on your site, mail your list if you have one or use
a survey company.
The final word on words,
is to know when its time for the final word. Don’t over use
words either in text or conversation and people will appreciate
you are also willing to listen. This article is now 440 words
which is ideal, so I’ll make this the last
word!
